                 Bring Health and Wellness into your life with this unique 5 night Hatha Yoga Holiday developed to help you soothe your body and mind, ease stress and reconnect to yourself.

 

                As well as daily therapeutic Hatha Yoga, Meditation and delicious Organic food, your holiday includes specifically designed workshops to increase your ability to manage stress, calm anxiety, achieve balance and deal with everyday life.

 

                Join Kathy as she guides you on a journey that explores how to integrate the ancient tools of Yoga with modern mind-body scientific research, allowing you to experience your fullest potential for Health and Wellness.

 

                We have carefully selected the small, family run Bio Apart-hotel, Venus Albir in the beautiful Spanish Mediterranean resort of Albir, on the Costa Blanca for your holiday. The property has a 24hr reception, spacious apartments with balcony, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Fair Trade Shop and is situated just 650m from the beach.

                Other facilities include a Bio Restaurant which is open to the public offering freshly prepared, Mediterranean and Vegetarian a la carte (optional extra) and menus of the day using the best selection of fresh organic products including fruit, vegetables, fish of the bay and grilled meat.                 For those who prefer self-catering, there are plenty of shops, cafés, patisseries and restaurants close by. Albir also has several supermarkets including Spanish, English and Dutch!

We like to limit the numbers on our holidays to ensure you get a high level of personal attention. The property also has just 24 apartments, so to avoid disappointment early booking is highly recommended.

The prices shown below are per person based on 2 sharing a spacious one bedroom fully equipped apartment. We understand if you prefer not to share so single occupancy rates are also available. If you have someone that would like to accompany you, but not take part in the Yoga and Workshops, or if you would prefer a private holiday, please contact us for prices.

Optional pre-bookable extras -

·         Private Yoga Therapy session with Kathy Ward. Price includes a pre-holiday initial consultation via email and Skype and a 90 minute session. €50.00

·         Massage – Choose from Alante, Shiatsu, Relaxation or Lymphatic Drainage. A 1hr massage is €30, a 30 minute massage is €20.

·         Group Airport transfers from Alicante Airport are available for €68 return. Subject to arrival and departure times.

·         Private Airport transfers from Alicante may be available. 

We strongly recommend that you pre-book any Yoga Therapy or Massage sessions you would like, as we know from experience how disappointing it can be if your choice is not available. Alicante Airport transfers must be pre-booked.

How to book - Easy as 1, 2, 3!

 

Step 1.

                Complete the on-line Enquiry form to tell us the holiday dates you would like to book.

 

                If you would like information about a Private Holiday, please send us the dates you would like to come and your contact details, so that we can discuss your exact requirements.

 

Step 2.

                We will then send you an email advising if your choice of holiday, and pre bookable extras are available and the total price. To book, please complete and return the on-line Holiday Payment form.

 

Step 3.

                Once we have your Holiday Payment form, we will send you an invoice for the Holiday price including any pre booked extras via email. This will happen within 24 hours on business days.

 

                Payment can then be made by International Bank Transfer, debit or credit cards.  Card payments are with PayPal and they charge a processing fee, usually 4.75%. PayPal is safe & secure and accepts all major credit cards.

 

                Please note - We are unable to hold provisional bookings longer than 7 days, you must therefore pay within the week to secure your booking.

 

Your holiday booking will be confirmed by email once full payment has been received

About the Hatha Yoga -

We practice breath-centered therapeutic Hatha Yoga that adapts to individual needs. It is suitable for beginners with some yoga experience and those who have practiced yoga before, including those with health challenges. We focus on breath and movement to enhance the flow of energy (Prana) in the body, as the flow is restored, our body has the opportunity to balance and heal itself. 

          Our mantra is definitely no pain, no pain!’ and our style of yoga is one that cultivates awareness of your own internal experience and what is available to you today. It is not about who can twist into a pretzel or hold the poses for longest!       

A typical session will include –
  • Centering
  •  Body Awareness
  • Pranayama (breathing)
  • Warm ups
  • Asanas – static with holds and flowing sequences (standing, balancing, hip openers, prone back bends, seated poses and forward bends, supine poses, finishing poses and inversions if appropriate)
  • Deep relaxation and or guided imagery
  • Closing and Affirmation

        If you are new to Pranayama, don’t worry as full instruction is given.

About the Mindful Movement and Meditation -

Join us for the short stroll to the Playa Albir beach where we practice Hatha Yoga based movements. This session is a mixture of seated and flowing movements designed to free every joint, gently stretch and cultivate an awareness of your body and breath.

We also practice Pranayama (breathing) to purify and energize ourselves with the invigorating sea air. We finish the session with a short, seated Meditation soothed by the sound of the sea.

One of the best ways we know to start the day!

About the Health & Wellness Workshops -

In today’s turbulent times, studies show that between 60 – 90% of all Doctors visits are for a stress-related challenge. The good news is that you can improve your quality of life by becoming an active participant in your own health and wellbeing.

 The experimental workshops which build day by day,  draw on the professional skills and personal experience of Kathy Ward (for more details on Kathy’s training please click here) plus the wealth of proven knowledge from leading Specialist in the medical and complementary fields of Therapeutic Yoga for Health and Wellness, Heart Disease, Cancer and other Stress Related Illness.

 

                Over four days you will learn and experience the tools and techniques of Yoga and modern mind-body therapies to rebalance your life and experience your fullest potential for health and wellbeing. You will also receive workshop pamphlet’s and accompanying CD’s recorded by Kathy so that you can continue your practice at home.

Friday - The Gentle Art of Relaxation - your prescription for stress!

Taking time out each day to relax and renew is essential to living well. The antidote to the stress of our busy lives is relaxation, but that alone is not enough, you need to relax deeply, to turn on your Relaxation Response (the opposite to your stress response) This rest is different from sleep or putting your feet up with a good book and a glass of wine!

Monday - Ayurveda & Yoga Nidra

            This final workshop is an introduction to Ayurveda, the sister science of Yoga (it’s a huge subject) -


  • Learn the guiding principles of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic Yoga
  • Review your Dosha questionnaire and take a look at a humorous review of the characteristics of the 3 Doshas
  • Discover the benefits of Ayurvedic Yoga for your Dosha and how it can bring balance to your life
  • Learn a wonderful Ayurveda foot massage
  • Experience a deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra session

 

          Yoga Nidra, sometimes referred to as yogic sleep is a combination of many of the tools of yoga that you have learnt over the past four days, including relaxation, affirmation, breathing and visualization techniques that work together to facilitate the integration of body, mind and spirit.

How to get here -

 

o        By Plane

o        Alicante Airport is 60km away. Flights are usually very reasonable with the low cost operators.

o        Valencia Airport is 120km away.

 

o        Transfers to the Venus Albir

 

o        Airport Transfers - We offer limited airport transfers from Alicante Airport so you don’t have to worry about a thing. If you would like to book, we usually leave the airport at lunch time on arrival day, and drop you back for midday on the final day. Actual times do vary as we look at the flight arrival times of the bookings. Please contact us with the details of your proposed flight for more accurate information. The cost for this return service is €68, payable with your Holiday deposit.  

o        Resort Hopper Service – Nice and cheap but you may have to wait for a bus on arrival or be picked up quite early for your return journey.

o        Private Airport Taxi – Taxis available just outside the Airport arrivals terminal. Expect to pay around €80 each way.

o        Car Hire – There are plenty of Car Hire firms at the airports, many of which are easy to find with a quick internet search.


What to bring -

 

·         The European Health Card is only valid for emergency medical treatment and this can be quite a lengthy process, which would eat into your precious holiday time. So in our opinion full Travel (including cancellation and baggage) and Medical Insurance is an essential you shouldn’t come without. Please bring the documents with you.

·         If you have a favorite Yoga Mat then bring it along, however mats are provided.

·         A big Beach Towel. For the Mindful Movement and Meditation on the beach we provide rush mats, but it’s nice to put a Beach Towel on top. Towels also roll up nicely to support your lower back and hips for the short guided Meditation.

·         Water Bottle.

·         Comfy clothes for the sessions and workshops.

·         And finally, don’t forget to bring your sun hat, sun cream, swim suit and holiday clothes!

 


Holiday Terms and Conditions -

 

1.       Payment is required to secure your Holiday. We cannot hold a provisional booking for longer than 7 days.

 

2.       If you need to cancel or cut short your Holiday for any reason, a cancellation charge will apply. Please see point 4 below.

 

3.       If you wish to change your booking, for example upgrade to half board or full board, change a name or add an Airport Transfer, you can do so without an administration charge.

 

4.       Cancellations - Cancellation must be in writing to kathy@mindfulcoach.org and there may be a €50 administration charge that is non-refundable. If cancellation takes place we charge the following fees- 

 

·         Less than 14 days written notice prior to your holiday date, you will forfeit 100% of your holiday price

·         15 days – 30 days written notice prior to your holiday date, you will forfeit 50% of your holiday price

·         31 days – 60 days written notice prior to your holiday date, you will forfeit 30% of your holiday price

·         More than 61 days written notice prior to your holiday date, you will be charged a €50 administration fee.

 

5.       We require everyone attending a Mindful Yoga Therapy Health and Wellness Holiday to complete a Health and Wellness questionnaire and waiver on arrival so that we can work together safely. These standard forms are available on the download page. Please note - we do not offer a diagnosis of condition or health issues. 

 

6.       If you have a pre-existing health challenge we strongly urge you to speak to your Doctor of Specialist about your intentions of booking this holiday, as all persons attending the Yoga for Health and Wellness Holidays do so entirely at their own risk. Also, if you are unsure if this holiday is suitable for you, please contact us before booking.

 

7.       We cannot accept liability for cancellations, delays or changes caused by war, threat of war, closure of airports, civil strikes, industrial action or natural disaster or other events outside of our control. Also, we cannot accept liability for participants medical conditions which may develop during or subsequent to the holiday. Loss of, or damage to personal property of participants.

 

8.       In the unlikely event that Mindful Yoga Therapy cancel your holiday, 100% of your deposit will be returned. Where a teacher is unavailable we will make every attempt to replace with a teacher of similar professional standard.

 

9.       In order to participate in these holidays, all customers must have comprehensive travel, cancellation and medical insurance in place prior to travel.
