Yoga is now recognized as an excellent means of management for many health conditions. The benefits of yoga poses, working with the breath, guided visualisations, deep relaxation and meditation may include increased body awareness, release of muscular tension, increased coordination and balance, increased flexibility and strength, control over fatigue, improved circulation and breathing, enhanced alertness, better management of stress and an overall feeling of well-being.
Contrary to popular myth, you do not need to be fit, flexible or have practiced yoga before to benefit from Yoga as it is suitable for both complete beginners and those who have practised before.
I teach a gentle form of breath centered Hatha Yoga, Gentle Stretch and Back Care Basics that adapts to individual needs. These classes are suitable for all, including those living with chronic or acute conditions including Fibromyalgia/ME, Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, Chronic Fatigue, Aids, Back Pain, Scoliosis, Osteoporosis and Womens health issues.

Yoga for Beginners
This gentle class is suitable everyone including people with health challenges. All poses will be modified to suit your body and no prior knowledge or experience of yoga is necessary, as full instruction will be given.
Hatha Yoga class
This class is suitable for people who have previous Yoga experience as less verbal instruction is given. All poses will be modified to suit your body.
Gentle Stretch
This class is suitable for all including those with health challenges. The unique mix of yoga based stretches, somatic mind body movements and deep relaxation will leave you feeling wonderful.
Back Care Basics
Statistics say that 80% of the adult population will suffer from significant Back or shoulder pain at some time of their lives – are you one of them? No matter how serious, rehabilitation and recovery IS possible.
This Back Care Basic class is a proven system of gentle Somatic mind-body exercises, gentle yoga based exercises and relaxation designed to help you heal your back and realign your body.
As each person’s spine is unique you will need to book a 90 minute private assessment where we will discuss your challenges and goals before attending the class. This is so that we can work together safely and adjustments, tailored to meet your current levels of flexibility, strength, and posture can be made.

The classes I offer integrate my skills in
modern mind body health and healing techniques with the ancient insights of
Hatha Yoga. Classes are held in the Wellness Centre in Altea la Vieja. The current
schedule is as follows: -

09.30 – 11.00 Yoga for
Beginners

13.30 – 15.00 Hatha Yoga

Classes on alternative
days may be possible, subject to a minimum of 2 people attending.
Costs
The 90 minute class Yoga for Beginners and Hatha Yoga class costs 32 euros per
month (4 classes)
The 60 minute Gentle Stretch and Back Care Basics* class costs 25 euros per month (4 classes)
*Please note. You need to book a 90 minute private session prior to attending
your first Back Care Basics class.
This 90 minute session allows us to fully discuss your back challenges and
includes an assessment of your range of movement, so that we can work together
safely. I do not offer diagnosis of back challenges. If you are unsure if this
class is for you, please contact me to discuss your needs.
90 minute Private sessions
are also available at a cost of 15 euros.

Payment is due at the first class.
One class out of the 4 can be carried
over to the next month if you are unable to attend.
Please note - the
maximum number of students at the Wellness Centre is 4 to allow for adaptions
to individual needs so Booking is essential.
Yoga Slim
This
very special90 minute class has been specifically written for weight
reduction and to target those difficult areas! the yoga poses have been chosen
to build muscle and burn fat and the class is suitable for those completely new
to yoga or those who have attended yoga classes in the past.
A
typical class includes essential weight reduction body awareness, breathing
exercises to boost your metabolic rate and cleanse your body, warm up stretches
and specifically chosen yoga poses to tone and streamline your body and
target those difficult areas (those wobbly bits including tums, bums, arms and
thighs!)
The
class also includes an exclusive See Yourself Slim guided
movitation visualisation, a deep guided relaxation and a Home practise handout.
This

Ultimate Golf Fitness
This
60 minute class focuses on Flexibility, Mobility and Balance to address the
most common swing faults. In many cases, just by improving your flexibility you
improve your Golf swing AND add distance to your shots!

Discover Hatha Yoga Course
The Mindful Coach 8
week course “Mastering the Basics” has been specially designed to offer you a
comprehensive guide to Hatha Yoga and to ensure you receive the best possible
instruction, class sizes are kept deliberately small. This course is also
available on a private basis.
The course will help
you discover and integrate the elements of a Hatha Yoga practice into your life
at a level specifically designed for your body.
The course starts
with a private 90 minute session so that we can discuss your goals and any
challenges you may have, this allows us to work together safely. The course
itself covers the basic fundamentals of asana, breathing, relaxation and
meditation. Each of the eight 90 minute sessions has been designed around a
theme (see below) and has a special sun salutation and asana focus that moves
weekly through the different foundation poses. At the end of each session you
will also be given a handout so that you can continue your practice at home.
Course Themes
Week 1 – Introduction to the course and its benefits
Week 2 – Breath is Life, taking one breath at a time
Week 3 – Body Awareness, learning to listen to your
body
Week 4 – Sitting as a whole person (The Koshas)

To give you an outline of how the sessions
will run (with the exception of your first 90 minute private session and week
8) each week we will be practicing body awareness, breathing exercises, warm up
poses, sun salute focus poses leading to the practice of the full sun salute,
asana focus poses along with standing poses, balancing poses, hip openers, back
bends, seated poses and forward bends, supine poses and finishing poses
followed by guided imagery, silent relaxation and meditation.
All poses will be modified to suit your body
and no prior knowledge or experience of yoga is necessary, as all instruction
will be given. The course is also suitable for people who have practiced Hatha
Yoga but would like to review the basics.
The Mindful Coach "Mastering the
Basics" is an essential first step to discovering Hatha Yoga so that you
may live peacefully in your mind, healthily within your body and in true
harmony with your mind and body.
The course costs 95 euros for the group course, and 150 euros
for a private course and includes your 90 minute private session, 12 hours of
tuition and all handouts.

Yoga Home Study course
The
Yoga Home Study course is a complete course in Yoga with a special focus on
the therapeutic dimension. The course includes Yoga philosophy and psychology,
asana, pranayama and mudra as well as an in-depth experiential study of how to
apply the psychology of yoga in daily living. This is a web-based program in
which each student works with a personal mentor (this can either be me or
another IYT Yoga Teacher) through e-mail with the option to add Telephone/VoIP
coaching and Weekend Workshops in Spain.
It
is available to all students throughout the world with an interest in deepening
their understanding of Yoga. This program gives you a certificate of completion
and is an excellent foundation to the Teacher Training Programme. This home
study course also offers sixty-five hours of credit toward the IYT Professional
Yoga Therapist Training Program run in the USA.
Cost $475* including detailed on-line manual, questions for written
work, course supervision and evaluation.
